How To Password Protect a Directory in cPanel



To Password Protect a Directory:


Step 1:  
Log into cPanel.


Step 2:  Select the directory you want to password protect by clicking its name.

Step 3: Check the Password Protect check-box, then give a name for the directory.

 

Step 4: Click Save.

 

Step 5: Then assign a Username and Password in Create User section.

 

Step 6: Click Save.

 

The Protected Directory now has one user who has access to it.

Repeat this process for each additional user you want to grant access to the directory.

 

The new User you added can be seen in Authorized Users section.
